In the premiere of Dark Matter Season 2, an unwelcome visitor forces the Dessens to go on the run again.

The claim is supported by the premiere recaps. TVLine reports that, while the original Jason is away, a Jason copy visits Daniela and is ultimately shot dead by her. FanBolt similarly says an alternate Jason tracks down the family, Daniela shoots him in self-defense, and the Dessens are forced back on the run after police discover the body.tvline.comtvline.comDark Matter Season 2 Premiere Recap: An Unwelcome Visitor Puts The Dessens On...fanbolt.comfanbolt.com'Dark Matter' Season 2 Premiere Recap, and Why There Are Two Boxes Now

The broader season premise also supports the timing and outcome described in the claim. The A.V. Club and several preview and launch reports say Season 2 begins with the Dessens living quietly in a seemingly safe world before an unimaginable event makes them flee again. Those descriptions do not identify the visitor, but the premiere recaps supply that missing detail.avclub.comavclub.comThe Dessens are on the run again in Dark Matter season 2 trailershowbizjunkies.comshowbizjunkies.comDark Matter Season 2 Premiere Preview: 'A Quiet Life' Sneak Peek+5 more

Vulture’s premiere recap adds that the episode immediately addresses the growing number of dead Jason Dessens in the Chicago area, consistent with the alternate-Jason storyline and the family’s escape. The available sources therefore support both the visitor’s arrival and the resulting flight, although “forces” describes the narrative consequence rather than a direct quotation from the episode’s official synopsis.vulture.comvulture.comDark Matter Season-Premiere Recap: Escape From Chicago
